In the pass, whenever a customer looking for a product or service, they will refer to “Yellow Pages” (business directory) for a store of company in their area. At most cases, it will supply with a name, contact number and sometimes an address. On a rare occasion, it will have a pictures advertisement with a list of products and services which is too much but a luxury for most businesses.

With the Internet today, the same consumers can go to the search engine (google.com, yahoo.com, msn.com) or local online directory to find for the businesses that offer the product or service they need. The web pages could have your product information with pictures, business contact such as map, phone numbers, understand your business, your employees, the events or promotions that you have and even directly purchase the products and services.

A website can save you the money in many ways, if you have to hand out brochures, catalog or promotion flyers, you could place all that on your website. This will reduce the number of expensive printed materials and because of website is electronic you don’t need to worry about the reprinting the materials every time the information changes. The changes can be done on the website, as quickly as you could get to your computer.

Business to Business (B2B) industries don’t need a website?

You might be wondering, do you need a website if you are only serving the businesses rather than the retail customers. Simply put, not having a website will be soon like not having listing in your local Yellow Pages, or in simple word not telling anyone about what your business is doing or what you have to offer. In short, if you want more customers, you should be online, regardless of your industry.

Who don’t need a website?

If you are already has a hand full of customers that you could ever handle and you do not want to hire more employees and you have no plan to grow larger because you just want enough work to earn a good living, then there’s no need of web site to market on the Web.

The result is to make your customers to able find you and to do business with your easily. We have to agree that, a website does not solve everything, but it will for sure give your customers more reason to do business with you. Offering them more information about your products, services, and company and more importantly make it easy for them to buy from you.
