Running Multiple Client or Brand Websites on One Hosting Plan

By Gotka Technologies ·

SAME FIVE WEBSITES, TWO WAYS TO HOST THEM DEDICATED PLAN PER SITE — EACH WEBSITE GETS ITS OWN RESOURCES Five separate plans, five separate resource pools — and five separate bills. ONE HOSTING PLAN — ADDON DOMAINS SHARE ONE POOL SHARED CPU / RAM / SSD POOL One shared pool, one bill — a traffic spike on one site leaves less room for the rest.
Can I host multiple separate websites on one hosting plan?

Yes. Most cPanel-based hosting, including every Gotka Go AI plan, lets you add extra domains to a single account as addon domains, each with its own folder, email and SSL certificate, so visitors see fully separate websites. Go AI Lite alone supports up to 30 websites on one account. All websites added this way still draw from that account's shared CPU, RAM and SSD storage pool.

What is an addon domain, and how is it different from a subdomain?

An addon domain is a completely separate, standalone domain name added to an existing hosting account, with its own folder, database and email addresses, so visitors see an independent website. A subdomain is instead a section of your existing domain, like shop.yourdomain.com. Addon domains are what let one hosting plan run genuinely separate brands or client sites; subdomains suit sections of a single site.

Will one busy website slow down the other sites on the same plan?

It can. Every website added to a hosting account through addon domains shares that account's CPU, RAM and storage pool rather than having dedicated resources of its own, so a sudden traffic spike on one site can leave less capacity for the others at the busiest moment. This is a genuine, structural trade-off of shared multi-site hosting, and it is manageable by watching usage and choosing enough headroom.

How many websites can I host on Gotka's hosting plans?

It depends on the tier. Go AI Lite allows up to 30 websites and 30 email accounts on 50GB SSD storage. Go AI Plus allows up to 100 websites with unlimited email on 150GB. Go AI Pro and Go AI Max allow unlimited websites and email, on 250GB and 400GB SSD respectively. All four run on LiteSpeed with cPanel, free SSL and daily backups.

Should a web design agency put every client site on one hosting account?

Many agencies do, since it keeps billing and management simple, but every client site then shares the same resource pool and the same cPanel login. A common middle ground is grouping sites by traffic level — quieter brochure sites together on one plan, and any client running e-commerce or heavy traffic on its own plan — so one client's spike or a compromised site cannot affect the others.

When should a website move off a shared multi-site plan onto its own plan?

The clearest signal is a site's traffic or resource use growing large enough that it is competing with the other sites on the same account, or needing a security boundary the others should not share, such as running e-commerce. At that point, moving that site to its own plan, or upgrading the whole account to a higher Go AI tier, restores headroom for everyone else.

Does each website on the same plan get its own SSL certificate and email?

Yes. On a cPanel-based plan, free SSL certificates and email accounts are issued per domain rather than per hosting account, so each addon domain gets its own certificate and its own set of email addresses that function independently of the other websites sharing the same plan.
